Test results

We always keep appointments open for when you need to see a doctor or nurse urgently. We will give advice on what to do or where to go if no such appointments are available - please tell reception that your need is urgent and ask to speak to a nurse. If your appointment is for a regular check-up and not urgent please try to make your appointment a few days ahead before your medication runs out. We can arrange for medication to tide you over until your appointment if you are right out of medication , but both the chemist and we will charge you for this - so it pays to plan ahead. We would also appreciate if you let us know if you cannot come to your appointment so that we can see some else sooner.

The medical council suggests that patient be reviewed  before a prescription is issued. This means that you will generally need to see the doctor for a prescription to be issued. If you are stable and well and a known patient, repeat prescriptions may be issued at the discretion of the doctor, please ask to speak to the nurse. Repeat prescriptions without seeing the doctor have to be paid for at the time of collection and are issued within 24h.

We will notify you of any important normal or abnormal test findings as soon as possible after receiving them and may ask you to come back to see the doctor to discuss these. If you are concerned you may ask about your results if you have not heard from us within 10 days of having had the test.
